Prevents rust and makes it easier to take the cap on off. This ad is for one Volvo Penta heat exchanger strainer housing cap. There is a round brass plate, that sits loose under the black rubber pad. It came off an aq140 or aq125a but will also fit a few other model's with the same heat exchanger.

It is used but in very good condition. Its painted blue so you don't notice it, but it is a separate part. This one is in very good condition with a lot of life left.

Its been cleaned and painted with rustle. You should add some marine grease between that brass plate and the underside of black rubber pad. Part take a close look at the photos.

Many of these are rusted out.
